Emotional support
For a child now heading their own home or a man living with HIV/AIDS, their emotional wellbeing becomes just as important as their access to food and work.
Each of the children and families that this programme targets have specific, and at times immense, emotional needs
For this reason our work stresses the value of the emotional support that staff bring.
Staff form relationships with each member of the community targeted for help. Each relationship is based on sharing God's love towards the poor in very practical ways - listening to the needs of the ill or orphaned, comforting them and building them up.
These relationships are started through home visits which are a core part of the programme. These visits see staff come to the homes of each child and family in the programme to hear their problems, share skills with them, love and encourage them.
