Bolivia Country Director: Oscar Montes
Oscar Montes was born into a poor family in an urban area of Bolivia. After the death of his mother and then being left by his father, Oscar had to look after and provide for his younger siblings alone with around £12 a month. Puerto Camacho Project Manager: Rene Calderon
The youngest of nine children, Rene grew up in a very poor family in an urban area of Potosi, Bolivia. Their situation became more difficult when his father died when Rene was just five. With the right opportunities and support he was able to overcome his circumstances. He has worked in various roles in FH Bolivia since 1996. To read his story click here.
Bolivia coordinator: Caroline Burns
Caroline grew up in Bristol. After finishing her degree in marketing she moved to London to work with St Barnabas church in North Finchley. Her work there involved working with the poor in Barnet, and working with children on an inner city estate. After working there for 2 years she followed God's call to work in Bolivia with Food for the Hungry. In October 2006 Caroline began her work in Cochabamba as an assistant for the regional sponsorship program. In March 2008 Caroline moved to La Paz to begin working on this new project in Puerto Camacho as the liaison between Bolivia and the UK, helping to bring about end-to-end transformation.
