September 2009 saw the inauguration and consecration of the project. The President and members of the community leadership board attended, as well as many parents and children from the community, the Pastor and members of the local church and FH staff.

After addresses from the leader of Puerto Camacho’s leadership board, René Calderon (FH project manager) and the Pastor of the Church, the newly refurbished classrooms were officially opened ready for classes to start.

A Project Committee was formally instated to monitor and support the project. The committee includes:
• A President: Robert Mamani which is also the representative of local leadership board
• FH representative: René Calderon
• A representative of the parents in the community
• 3 representatives from the local church

Seeing so many different community representatives attend was encouraging and significant as their involvement is key to bring change. All were very enthusiastic and excited about the project and working together towards a new future.
