Welcome to Puerto Camacho!

Located on the outskirts of El Alto, Bolivia's poorest city, Puerto Camacho is a poor community whose 1450 residents battle daily against hunger, poor living conditions, poor health and unemployment.

With the support of donors from the UK, local Food for the Hungry staff are working to bring about transformation which is not only impactful in the short term but also sustainable in the long term. We are empowering local people to discover their own potential and become the agents of change in their own community.

We invite you to get to know Puerto Camacho and some of its residents through these pages. Starting with the introductory slideshow presentation below, this site guides you through the needs and aspirations of this community, and invites you to become part of the Puerto Camacho transformation story.
