Our values
At Food for the Hungry UK we believe:
- All people are created in the image of God with dignity, value and worth. That's why we provide physical and spiritual nourishment without regard to race, creed or national origin.
- Mothers in developing countries, as the family's primary educator, health care provider and nutritionist, are the key to the survival of their families. That's why we focus on teaching women the basics of good health and mothering skills.
- Children need our special care because they are the first to suffer from all forms of poverty. That's why we work to empower communities to provide food, education and medical care for children to unlock their potential.
- We can break the cycle of hunger and poverty by helping people become self-sufficient. That's why we teach people the skills to take responsibility for their own economic and personal development.
- We are all called to challenge people to help us bring hope to a world in need. That's why we invite caring people to become our partners in the fight against physical and spiritual hunger.
- Emergency relief operations are critical when lives are threatened by natural or human-caused disasters. That's why aim to provide emergency aid which is both efficient and immediately effective.
- The teachings and example of Jesus are the key to ending world poverty
