Mozambique

Mozambique: Health Program Assistant (Beira).
Duties:
1. Develop and implement a low-cost, fuel efficient stove project. Research low-cost fuel-efficient stoves, conduct adaptability and feasibility trials in communities where stoves will be used, create training material; participate in training of local staff and beneficiaries.
2. Monitor and assist in the development and implementation of income generating projects for orphans participating in our Bringing Hope (HIV and AIDS) program.
3. Facilitate the development of educational material for health projects. Research educational topics, work with consultants and artists as needed for material development, edit and pre-test material, organize layout, and work with printing company to ensure a high quality product.
4. Development of Biblical studies that integrate technical health information with Biblical truths.
5. Work closely with the provincial nutrition coordinator to plan and prepare for regular activities, assist in communication, collection of field reports, equipping district offices with necessary supplies and materials, follow-up on logistical issues.
6. Provide support and prayer for sick health employees. Follow-up on status, visit in hospital, coordinate with human resources to ensure benefits are given in a timely and adequate manner.
7. Develop an HIV prevention and response policy for FH Mozambique. Review plans already developed by other organizations, visit organizations to learn best practices. Inform and train staff regarding the HIV prevention and response policy.
Abilities and characteristics:
1. Strong Christian faith, good knowledge of the Bible, able to develop Bible studies independently.
2. Lifestyle models Christian faith within the Mozambican Christian context.
3. Mature individual, able to live independently in resource poor setting, takes care of personal health, maintains healthy relationships and support network
4. Able to learn Portuguese (written and spoken).
5. Sufficient familiarity with the internet to do research
6. Proficiency in excel, word, power-point. Familiarity with computers and an ability to learn how to use new programs and develop the skills necessary to complete project goals.
7. Good design and layout skills. Attention to detail. Artistic ability helpful, but not required.
8. Patience and flexible in adopting to the local context.
9. Takes initiative, team player, communicates ideas, suggestions, and plans prior to taking action, can creatively solve problems.
10. Organized, able to plan ahead, and can prioritize activities.
11. Bachelors degree or equivalent experience. Preference given to degrees in nursing, public health, community health, development, business, and or social science.
Work Setting:
The Health Program Assistant would be based in Beira (2nd largest city in Mozambique) and would work as part of the Beira health team (currently 6 people). This 6 person team currently supports a field staff of over 100 people. Frequent travel to districts where the health program is implemented would be required; the most distant area of work is 8 hours by car. Lodging and facilities in the districts are very basic, often lacking running water, electricity, and consistent communication.

Rwanda

RW-02 Rwanda: CDP Communications Manager. Will manage the Correspondence department of the Child Development Programme. Develop and carry out efficient procedures for monitoring the communication between children and the sponsors. To oversee and ensure that the four mailing deadlines are kept and that the flow of correspondence between the children and the sponsors is maintained. Must have previous experience in management, education/training and administration. Fluent in English. A working knowledge of French is an asset. Proficient in various computer programs including Word and Excel. Detailed and organized manner, with excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to lead a team of FHI staff and volunteers and also able to work efficiently and independently towards on-going deadlines.

RW-03 Rwanda: Nurse. The position holder is based in the FHI/Rwanda office in Gitarama town and is answerable to the Programmes Director (PD). He/she is required to spend at least 50% of working time in the field with partners and field level staff. He/she will have the following main tasks and responsibilities: conduct base line surveys, design appropriate intervention in line with the organization's vision, proposal writing, health check up of children in the sponsorship programme, designing health education and delivery of the same, network/liaison with local district and province level partners, report writing, monitoring and evaluation of all FHI/R health programme activities.

Rwanda: Health Unit Programme officer -- Rwanda/Burundi. Responsible for implementation and reporting of health-related programmes and projects being undertaken by FHI/R in Rwanda and/or Burundi. He/she will work on the programmes and projects assigned by the Manager of the Health Unit. He/she will train and oversee promoters to ensure compliance with strategic, programme, project, and VOC objectives.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Appropriate Ideas:
1. Demonstrates, motivates, monitors and evaluates an understanding of and commitment to FHI's Corporate Identity and especially the Vision of a Community (VOC) and how it is achieved.
2. Advises on how the VOC can be best realized in health programs and projects.
3. Assist the Manager of the Health Unit to explore new possibilities for health programming. This includes assisting with the designing of intervention criteria, surveying the area to generate the necessary information (in addition to collection of all the necessary data) for proposal writing, and the actual write up the proposal as per the donor's proposal writing guidelines.
Appropriate People:
4. Assist the proper recruitment, orientation, training, development, and member care of all FHI/R staff assigned to his/her unit.
5. Models leadership to unit and intentionally develops the leadership potential of all staff in his/her unit.
6. Develop and maintain good working relationships with all partners.
7. Collaborate with other NGO's, Government authorities and other FHI/R departments and units.

8. Assist to identify means through which FHI/R can increasingly expand its potential to reach VOC goals.

Bangladesh

BA-03 Bangladesh: English Tutors. (Multiple Openings). Will direct English tutoring with sponsored school children and help to develop the English skills of our staff - particularly supervisory staff and schoolteachers. No degree requirement. Must be mature, with some previous cross-cultural experience. A qualification in teaching English as a second language is highly desirable.

BA-05 Bangladesh: HRD/Community Development Worker. General community development work at FHI Bangladesh project sites. Prefer degree in human, economic or agricultural development. The worker would live in a rural setting, probably remote from other expatriates. For cultural reasons, a male candidate would be strongly preferred and a married couple would be ideal. Must be mature Christian with desire and experience in personal discipleship.

Cambodia

CA-15 Cambodia: C.A.S.E. Advisor (Community Agriculture, Sanitation and Savings Education). A mature Christian with some cross-cultural experience, who is committed to investing in our national staff to do the following for a minimum of three years:
1. Work independently, live incarnationally, know and love staff increasingly.
2. Assist the CASE sector coordinator(s) with reporting requirements.
3. Assist the CASE sector coordinators to develop a curriculum (from various source materials) that incorporates Biblical worldview principles in a non-formal learning style.
4. Invest in discipleship and professional development of the CASE sector leaders.

CA-16 Cambodia: IT Coordinator & Capacity Builder. A mature Christian with some cross-cultural experience, who is committed to investing in our national staff to do the following for a minimum of two years:
1. Work independently, live incarnationally, know and love staff increasingly.
2. Coordinate the IT related needs of field and head office (2 simple office networks, maintaining & purchasing hardware & software)
3. Train national staff who use computers at work in basic areas as MS Office, anti-virus & malware protection, backing up data, web, etc.
4. Post documents online & maintain simple website on behalf of FHCambodia, as needed
5. Identify a few staff to train and coach more intensively in IT related needs to replace yourself by the end of your term.

Philippines

PH-16 Philippines: Spiritual Development Assistant . Works closely with the Spiritual Coordinator in leading the FH Phil staff towards Biblical Worldview understanding and FH partner churches to share the same messages with our FH beneficiaries.
1. Education: Degree in Bible Mission, Theology, Intercultural Studies.
2. Must have experience working overseas and good record of working cross culturally
3. Must have experience and knowledge in education, training, Christian counseling and discipleship
4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
5. Ability to work in small groups and among interdenominational churches.
6. Relational and flexible in working with all age groups as well as both men and women.
7. Competent computer skills and able to develop plans, schedules and reports.
8. Fluent in English and willing to learn Tagalog.

PH-12 Philippines: Health Development Officer. Implement and carry the Health and Nutrition Programme of the Philippines in a specific region of the Philippines as a part of the holistic approach to child and community development. Plans, oversees, facilitates, implements programme priorities as well as monitors and ensures improvement.
1. Education: Degree in Nursing, Midwifery, Public Health and Nutrition
2. Equipped to handle health care and emergency when need arises
3. Must have experienced working in a health institution for at least a year and have experienced working overseas with a good record of cross-cultural work
4. Able to relate with children, youth, parents, community leaders and church leaders
5. Must have experience and knowledge in education, training and small groups facilitation
6. Willing to travel extensively in the communities that FH/Phils. serves
7. Can work unsupervised but in collaborative harmony with other team members
8. Must have a flexible approach to living conditions, the ability to adapt quickly and to work well in cross-cultural environment.

Latin America / Caribbean

Bolivia

Bolivia: CDP Church Facilitator. Assist the Child Development Program (CDP) in their efforts to reach out and holistically support approximately 2,000 sponsored children and their families, by helping to strengthen the program's work with mother churches in the city and their church plants in rural CDP communities.� This position will focus on working with churches, church volunteer initiatives, child and youth coalitions, rural church plants, training church leaders and Sunday School teachers and developing Sunday School programs.� The purpose of these activities is to form an incarnational relationship between churches and the children and their families in the rural communities.� This position will require travel to the rural work zones.

Bolivia: Church Strengthening Assistant. Collaborate with the Church Strengthening Program's (CSP) efforts to holistically equip and strengthen the local church in the city of El Alto.� El Alto is considered one of the fastest-growing, yet poorest cities in Bolivia with over 66% of the population living in poverty.� The purpose of this position is to assist with the CSP's objectives to strengthen church leadership, facilitate discipleship processes and provide training tools for church leaders. Requires experience of working with the Church and its ministries (pastoral, bible studies, outreach, etc), experience with the holistic formation of children and adolescents (biblical, academic, psychological, Christian character, Sunday School, etc) and�experience in the development and production of audiovisual materials (video filming and editing, photography, graphic design software, PowerPoint, etc.)

Bolivia: Regional Rural Micro-enterprise Assistant. As a member of the Regional Income Generation and Commercialization teams, the Regional Rural Micro-enterprise Assistant will help to holistically support approximately 1,000 families who live in rural areas, and who depend on agriculture as their primary source of livelihood. The objective of this position is to support the strengthening of rural micro-enterprise initiatives and the diffusion of the Pricing Information System, with the goal to achieve integrated behavior changes (knowledge, attitudes and practices) that will lead to the beneficiaries having an increased and sustainable capacity to generate income. This position requires 10%-20% travel to FHI/Bolivia's rural work zones.

Bolivia: Institutional Marketing Assistant. This position focuses on building FHI/Bolivia's institutional image and communicating with clarity and conviction its profile and work to international partners, donors and the media in order to capture their interest and commitment to collaborate with our work in the very needy areas of the country. FHI/Bolivia is looking for a graduate,or alternatively a relatively experienced person in marketing, communications or public relations with good creative and communications skills. You will work as part of a team to support the elaboration of FHI/Bolivia's institutional image and showcase our projects and activities across various communication channels and products (intranet database, webpage, brochures, information leaflets, videos, project proposals, reports, etc). This position requires 10-20% travel to gather information from FHI/Bolivia field projects.

Bolivia: Teams Assistant. This position focuses on building relationships with churches outside of Bolivia (principally in North America), motivating them to adopt a needy community in FHI/Bolivia's work zones; as well as actively assisting with the recruitment, training and organization of short-term visits from international teams or individuals who are interested in experiencing FHI/Bolivia's work and committing themselves to our vision.

Bolivia: Regional Child Development Programme (CDP) Assistant. Assist the Regional Child Development Program in their efforts of reaching out and holistically supporting approximately 2,000 sponsored children and their families, who live in poor rural communities in the department of Cochabamba. The objective is to use creative means (stories, photos, reports, and letters) to make international sponsors aware of the transformations and impact God is achieving in the lives of the sponsored children, their families and their communities, through the work of FHI/Bolivia.

B-33 Bolivia: Boarding House Coordinators. FHI/Bolivia is seeking a Christian couple with profound and deep love for children and at least 2 years experience working with or caring for children (through church youth groups, scouts, schools, etc). You will be responsible for managing a boarding house with capacity for 50 male and female students between the ages of 10 to 15. FHI established the Lacuyo Boarding House in 2003 following requests by the local Aymara communities in the area to help students who typically have to walk two or more hours to reach the school in Lacuyo.

Dominican Republic

DR-03 Dominican Republic: Child Development Programme Field Worker. Will provide basic CDP functions including periodic visits to children's homes, helping to write progress reports, tracking information on computer, organising various CDP activities. Will work as a part of the CDP team. Must have a degree in psychology, sociology, social work, theology, or related.

DR-05 Dominican Republic: Information and Communications Manager. Will assist the Country Director in the preparation and consolidation process of international and/or special reports. Requires a degree-level qualification in IT and/or business administration plus experience with spreadsheet, dB, word processing and other office software programs.

DR-07 Dominican Republic: Accountant Assistant. Will help in the codification of all support material for the elaboration of the Monthly Financial Statements, will do all the bank reconciliation and will take the control over any cash money. Requires an undergraduate degree in accounting or related field. Must have a minimum experience of 1 year in tasks related to accounting. Must present a professional image and have good interpersonal relations.

DR-09 Dominican Republic: International Staff Coordinator. The International Staff Coordinator (ISC) will work under the supervison of the Staff Development Manager or the Country Director. This position will design, implement, and evaluate procedures to assure the effective recruiting, orientation, training, and member care of all staff. However, an emphasis will be on the seconded international staff (SIS) toward the appropriate people profile.

Guatemala

G-01 Guatemala: Child Development Programme Communications Assistant. Will assist in the record-keeping systems within the CDP and help with the sponsor-child relationships. Supports the CDP activities and helps in the planning of activities for the children. Requires good English writing skills. Must have degree plus basic office and computer skills.

GU-03b Guatemala: Teams Coordinator. Responsible for overseeing the operations of the Short-term Teams programme in Guatemala, reporting directly to the Country Director. Controls logistics, hosting and translating for teams. Position is based in the central office in Guatemala City. Requires ability to speak (or willingness to learn) Spanish, good English speaking and writing skills and cross-cultural experience. Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills, dependability and initiative. Mature Christian with a heart to share God's love with the poor. Additional preferred skills include: basic computer skills, administration, Christian education and experience leading groups.

G-07 Guatemala: Assistant to the Country Director. A detail-oriented executive assistant to provide support to the Country Director by facilitating the elaboration and development and presentation of new ideas, proposals and projects. This person will work closely with the CD in coordinating, managing and reporting on the implementation of VOC strategy in Guatemala. Based in the central office.

G-10 Guatemala: Teacher Trainer. Will provide technical educational support to the tutors and teachers who work with sponsored children. Will supplement the current educational programme. Requires degree in education. Classroom experience preferred. Cross-cultural experience preferred. Abilities in any of the following helpful but not exclusive: ESL, drama, music, teacher training, sports, industrial arts.

G-12 Guatemala: International Staff Coordinator. The ISC will facilitate recruitment, orientation, training, development and ongoing member care of all Seconded International Staff (SIS) serving with FHI in Guatemala. This is a strategic position that ensures proper personnel resources are available to fulfil the Vision of a Community in Guatemala. Applicants must have 3+ yrs of previous work experience in Latin America with Guatemalan experience preferred. They must speak Spanish and English and be fluent in local culture and customs. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and a proven history of successful, multi-cultural team management. Other preferred skills/experience include education/training, job analysis, job development, negotiation, administration and Christian counselling & discipleship.

G-15 Guatemala: IT Worker. This person will develop the information technology systems for use in Guatemala. He will advise on the most appropriate technology to be used for efficient integration of all the information needs in country and a smooth interface to the National Organizations with whom we work. Responsible for equipment selection and installation of hardware and software and staff training plan. This position is based in the Central Office in the capital.

G-16 Guatemala: Micro-Enterprise Specialist. This person will help to identify market opportunities and work with the community people to develop small income generating projects and businesses. The worker will be based in a regional centre, though may help in more than one region.

G-19 Guatemala: National Communications and Marketing Assistant. Specialist or graduate in marketing, communications or public relations. This person will work with the key leadership towards building FHI/Guatemala's institutional image and communicating its profile on national and international platforms. This person will be based in Guatemala City.

Nicaragua

FHI Nicaragua was a founder of the Nehemiah Center for Transformational Development and our work remains very integrated in order to promote the Vision of a Community (VOC). We view ourselves as an international community of learning, service and collaboration.

NC-15 Nicaragua: Youth Ministry Leader. The successful applicant will carry out an incarnational life and ministry in Santa Maria, Posoltega. The main focus of activity will involve work with youth of various ages and backgrounds. Additionally, help will be given to local churches to reach out to the youth of their community as well as collaboration with local pastors to develop a support system for youth.
Qualifications:
1. Solid foundation and belief in the teachings of Jesus Christ, with the ability to share life experiences effectively.
2. Flexibility and the willingness to practise a very simple lifestyle.
3. Must be creative and able to put into practice Jesus Christ's ministry in new ways.
4. Experience with people who have suffered great tradegy is helpful.
5. Formal education in youth ministry or a related discipline is preferred.
6. Fluent in Spanish.

NC-16 Nicaragua: ESL Teacher. Teach English in Christian schools. Work with local churches by using English classes as an outreach to the community. Requires teaching qualification & experience, with ESL experience preferred.

NC-17 Nicaragua: ESL Teacher Trainer. Provide technical educational support to the tutors and teachers who work with Christian schools. Assist in programme development and training of teachers to enable student proficiency in oral as well as written English. Maintain a mentoring relationship with the teachers throughout the school year. Based in Managua, though other locations may be available as well. Requires teaching qualification & experience. Cross-cultural experience and some basic Spanish ability preferred.

NC-18 Nicaragua: Church Partner. Partner with local churches to support the pastor and congregation in the development of holistic "seed project" ministries. Participate and support the other ministries of the church, including youth and children's programmes and community evangelism. Woudl suit an individual or couple with a strong understanding of holistic ministry and community development. Experience working with Latin American churches preferred.

NC-19 Nicaragua: Arts and Media Resources Assistant. Assist in the development of training materials, both written and audio/video, for various development programmes sponsored by FH and also by our partner organization, the Nehemiah Center. Assist in productions utilized for fundraising purposes in English-speaking countries. Based in Managua. Requires degree in communication, education or related field. Previous experience in photography, video, video editing, or graphic design.

NC-20 Nicaragua: Computer Teacher. Partner with local Christian schools and support their computer training programmes. Help teach students the basics about using computers and commonly used software packages. Provide basic maintenance and repair to equipment. Most likely based in Managua. Requires a basic knowledge of computer systems and system repair. Experience in teaching and working with children preferred. Basic understanding of Spanish a plus.

NC-21 Nicaragua: Computer Technician. Provide technical support for the computer systems of the Nehemiah Center for Transformational Development by supervising and maintaining the office network and server. Provide training to staff in the use of common software. Based in Managua. Requires experience in network management and experience working with a Linux server. Knowledge of common software packages such as Microsoft Office, QuickBooks and multimedia software preferred.

Nicaragua: Communications and Promotion Specialist. The Communications and Promotion Specialist will work with the staff of FH and the Nehemiah Center to communicate their work both with the national and international community.� Will promote the programs of FH and the Nehemiah Center through newsletters, web pages, speaking engagements, press releases, etc.�

Peru

P-01b Peru: Admin. Assistant (Child Development Programme). Will assist, in an orderly and timely fashion, in processing administrative, translation and communication tasks as required by the CDP. Must have experience and skills in administrative and secretarial work. Must have basic working knowledge of computer word processing and spreadsheets.

PE-04 Peru: International Staff Coordinator. Facilitate recruitment, orientation, training, development and ongoing member care of the international staff serving in Peru. Work directly and indirectly with the Country Director, international staff, national organizations, the international office human resource department and national staff. Requires a minimum of 1 year of previous work experience in Peru. Spanish and English proficiency, and familiarity with Peruvian culture and customs. Excellent interpersonal skills and experience with team management (multi-cultural preferred). Other preferred skills include education/traingin, job analysis and job development, negotiation, administration, and Christian counseling and discipleship.

P-13 Peru: Physical Therapist. To be seconded to Refuge of Hope, a school for handicapped children in Pucallpa. Requires a degree and experience in occupational or physical therapy.

P-18 Peru: English Teacher. This person will be teaching English in schools located within FHI's CDP communities. There will also be opportunities to work with local churches by using English classes as an outreach to the community. Teach English language courses to community members, possibly of varying ages.
2. Coordinate with the CDP Manager to facilitate an organized, collaborative approach to empowering communities.
3. Communicate and work with local churches to establish English classes within the churches.
4. Be an available resource to assist FHI staff
Qualifications:
Previous ESL experience is a plus.

PE-19b Peru: Spiritual Development Programs Assistant. Work with FH Peru's Churches and Families programme alongside national staff. Assist local community churches to promote and implement prayer cell groups and couples' clubs, communicate the Vision of a Community to church pastors and leaders through training sessions and one-on-one relationships. Motivate and minister to the FH international staff. Requires good faciliation, oratory and teaching skills, as well as the ability to stategize, plan and implement programmes. Able to work with interdenominational churches. A degree in theology or divinity studies preferred. A married couple that has previous knowledge and experience in marriage and family counseling/orientation a plus.

P-21 Peru: Promoters (Child Development Programme). Responsible for promoting Food for the Hungry's Vision of a Community (VOC) within specific communities. Involves working with churches, families, and leaders to bring about positive change as the community and its people progress towards a biblical worldview and their God-given potential. Will provide essential CDP functions including: community and leadership development, home visits, progress reports, information management, and organizing various CDP activities. Will work as a part of the CDP team.
Qualifications:
Must have a degree in psychology, sociology, social work, theology or related.

P-25 Peru: Public Health Worker. Will assist the project manager in training and co-ordinating all activities related to the project, including integrating the spiritual and physical aspects of the project when teaching beneficiaries. Requires knowledge of basic health and nutrition, good verbal communications skills and teaching ability, ability to transmit Christian values and share the Gospel, cultural sensitivity and ability to plan, organise and implement programmes. Basic computer knowledge is preferable.

P-27 Peru: Teams Coordinator. Will supervise and coordinate the general program of short-term teams in Peru and proactively assist in the training and recruitment of teams with the Country Director. Responsible for all aspects of team ministry including both spiritual and physical. Will collaborate with FH field managers and local staff to establish projects for short-term teams while taking into consideration the diversity of skills, talents and gifts of team members. Will aid in the general promotion of FHI Peru, including the collection of media and testimonials and the promotion team projects in Peru. Prefer previous experience living in another culture. Must have strong call to work with the poor and a mature relationship with Jesus Christ. Prefer previous experience in leading and working with short-term project teams. Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Spanish a plus.
